From WordPress Content Assistant to Team Lead
For 11 years, I helped an Australian digital marketing company turn approved content and website builds into organized, optimized and launch-ready digital experiences—while growing and leading the virtual assistant team that supported the work.
WordPress Content Management · Team Leadership · 2015–2026The Beginning
A Simple Project That Grew Into Long-Term Trust
I began working with Deb Croucher of Brilliant Digital in 2015 after being hired through an online job platform for a project-based WordPress data-entry assignment. Within a few months, Deb offered me a guaranteed position managing WordPress content for the company.
I worked closely with Deb, the Operations Manager, Project Managers, Writers, Graphic Designers and Web Developers to move each website from development to completion. My role required more than uploading content—it required accuracy, organization, communication and ownership across every stage of the project.
What started as a short data-entry project became an 11-year working relationship built on consistency, adaptability and trust.
Leadership & Growth
Building a Team as the Work Expanded
For more than three years, I managed the WordPress content workload independently. As Brilliant Digital gained more projects, I recruited and trained additional virtual assistants until the team grew to four people, including me.
I assigned and monitored work, clarified project instructions, checked output for accuracy and helped the team meet deadlines across new website builds and ongoing client retainers. This experience strengthened my ability to lead remotely while remaining hands-on with the work.
New Website Builds
From Developer Handover to Launch-Ready Website
Once a test website was handed over by the developer, I helped turn its framework into a complete, carefully structured and optimized client website.
Content Population
Uploaded and formatted pages, posts, case studies, images, video links, files and other client-approved content.
Search Readiness
Applied on-page SEO, metadata, schema markup, image alt text and AEO/GEO considerations.
Project Feedback
Set up ProjectHuddle, added stakeholders, replied to comments and completed requested revisions.
Launch Support
Checked content, links and assets, then prepared the 301 redirect list before the website went live.

Complex Project Experience
Making Large Catalogs Manageable
I worked on content-heavy and e-commerce websites for industries including steel, industrial compressors and tooling. These projects involved hundreds of products, detailed technical information and extensive image libraries.
Using structured spreadsheets and clear naming and folder systems, our team kept product data organized and transferred it accurately into WooCommerce. The result was a catalog that remained consistent and easier for the wider project team to review, update and launch.

Used ChatGPT and Gemini to support selected tasks, always combining AI assistance with manual review, accuracy checks and human judgment.
