The Beginning
Starting Again in an Entirely New Industry
After resigning from my position as a Supervisor Respiratory Therapist, I wanted to build a career online. At the time, however, I had no formal experience with internet-based work and very little understanding of the skills required.
A friend referred me to Imhotep, then CEO of GammaRayInteractive.com, a start-up internet marketing business based in the United States. He gave me my first opportunity as a Lead Generation Specialist and trained me to identify prospects, approach potential clients and support the company’s business development efforts.
I entered GammaRayInteractive without digital experience. I left with the technical foundation that would shape the next chapter of my career.

The role expanded as I became more involved in the company’s clients, projects and day-to-day digital operations.
Lead Generation
Researched prospects and helped the business secure clients who needed website creation and ongoing SEO support.

Joined Imhotep during client calls and meetings, gaining direct exposure to requirements, expectations and project discussions.
Technical Training
Took the initiative to learn WordPress, SEO, cPanel and internet marketing when the business needed broader project support.
Digital Delivery
Progressed into website creation and helped develop online properties designed for content and affiliate marketing.
The Turning Point
Choosing to Step Into the Skills the Business Needed
GammaRayInteractive originally had separate team members responsible for video creation, SEO and content writing. When those team members became unavailable for different reasons, maintaining continuity became a challenge for the growing business.
Instead of remaining within the limits of my original lead generation role, I asked Imhotep to train me in WordPress website creation and SEO. He patiently introduced me to the broader world of digital work—from building websites from scratch and accessing cPanel to understanding affiliate marketing, social media marketing and search optimization.
When the team became smaller, I responded by becoming more capable—learning the skills needed to help keep the work moving.
